These are a few pointers we
hope will help you with Powwow Chat.

Some of this information is not accurate since pictures are
from newer version no longer running.
Your Powwow
Communicator!
Enter a Community: To
enter our community from your address book: Highlight our community it and choose Join. If
it is not in your address book then just type in the e-mail address for the community
CHECKMARK DIRECT CONNECT and
choose Join. Our community addresses are: Important that you checkmark direct
connect.. or it won't work..
This will be in your address
Book once you have visited Link's Place.
Once you have entered our
community you will have a group chat that looks like this:

Robot Text to Speech: To Hear the text to speech robot voice, click the hear button
in the group chat window to on.
To change the color of your text:
Use the text button in the group chat window to
change color or enter your personal communicator by pressing the orange person on side
panel of main powwow window. In that window the colors are there in top right corner.
For information about users in
a community right click there name and you will get this:

To add a buddy:
You right click on the orange man of the person
you want to add and choose add buddy. WARNING IN THE CURRENT VERSION RUNNING THE
BUDDYLIST ARE NOT ACCURATE AND WILL NOT WORK RIGHT.
To play games:
If you would like to play games, choose the game
button and then new game and it will give you a choice of games, some will join you and
some will watch the game. Have a Friend meet you to play a game or start a game and wait
for joiners.
Profiles and
Instant messages: If you want to see profiles of
each other it isn't working sorry. But you
can send and receive instant messages there also and when someone sends you a Instant
Message you should hear a dog bark and see a blinking paper by there name. You can receive
that Instant message by double clicking it. You can save instant messages by copying and
paste to notepad.
Send an Insta-Voice message:
Be sure you turn off your robot text
to speech before using this feature. Right-click the person's name in the you wish to send
the message to and select the Insta-Voice Message option. The recording window opens.
Click the Record button (the button to the far right) and begin speaking. The
Recorder displays the volume and the amount recorded.
When you are finished recording,
click the Stop (middle) button. To hear if it was a good recording, click the Play (left)
button. To cancel the message, click Cancel. To send the message, click Send.
This is a good way to test your
microphone to make sure it is transmitting clearly.
To talk or powwow an individual:
If you would like to talk to someone with your
Personal Communicator (up to 9 users). You right click the man of the person and choose
Powwow. Only one person can voice chat with you at a time.
Personal Communicator Bar
In personal communicator you
will only hear other people's robot voice not your own and to turn on make sure the H
above the person's name is pressed in.
Voice Chat:
Be sure before you start
voice chat that you do not have a lot of programs running or it may freeze your system. Be
sure and turn off the robot voice. This feature is available through your Personal
Communicator window, lets you talk as though you were using a telephone (full-duplex mode)
or a CB radio (half-duplex mode). You will need a microphone connected to your sound card.
Once in personal communicator with someone you can either choose the microphone or the
little telephone above there name. They will be sent a prompt and can either except
or deny. Once you are connected you will see a voice chat window. At that time you
can adjust your threshold (a little triangle, best if moved more to the left) and
your volume for better reception. If the other person cannot hear you then check your
volume control on your windows taskbar.
Browser: If your browser doesn't open with powwow then go to
preferences and choose browser then choose the path on your hard drive to where you exe.
file is for that browser.

Note: to
make the text to speech work, it is recommended that you run both of these files
and then reset your computer.
