*note*: you can connect to our room with more than just mIRC or live chat. Programs available to connect to Linksplace are:

• mIRC

• Trillian

• mircrosoft chat

• any IRC client

If you want to be able to hear text to speech and much more you must install the full version of MIRC or Scoopscript. 

Download mIRC

Once you have downloaded and installed the MIRC program in order to get into our LinksPlace main chat room you will have to configure a few things.  Please read the following to enter LinksPlace on MIRC with full version. 

STEP ONE: Setting up mIRC 

• Double click the icon (shortcut) to start up MIRC
• The Options Dialog and require you to fill in some information:

  

Full Name: Your FAKE name (people will see this name in your profile, don't use your real name)
E-Mail: Your email address (people will see this try use a fake email or a yahoo, hotmail email don't put your real email address)

• You also have to select our Add our server. A long list of servers is available by default. Press the ADD button to put in our server. The following are our coordinates for our server.

  PRESS THE ADD BUTTON INDICATED IN THE ABOVE PICTURE

  Insert what you see here!

  

   

Then select A and you will see the Fun4U network there. Select it and click ok

STEP TWO: Using mIRC

• Click on the File menu and select Connect. Or select the lightning button in the Toolbar for the same effect.
  

  • After a short wait (up to 20 seconds) you will see some meaningless blurb appear in the status window.

  • The last line will say something like "End of MOTD command".

  You are on IRC now !! Congratulations.

TO JOIN LINKSPLACE, type the /join #linksplace command in the single line box at the bottom of the Status window. 

To get a listing of all available channels you might try the /list command and it will also give you a list of all rooms running on server including #linksplace

When you join LinksPlace, a new window will appear on your screen.
The names on the right side column are those people who are currently joined in the channel.
The left hand window is where everyone's conversation takes place.
To say things to the people joined to the channel, just type your comments in the single row box at the bottom of the channel's window.

To leave a channel, just double click on the close box, which is located at the top-left hand corner of the channel name's window. Of course we don't want you to leave.. :)

Both the Java version and full version connect to same room.

Moderators and helpers in the room will have an @ sign next to there name. They will help you set up your sounds and configurations for lots of fun!!
